In this two hour workshop, we will review section three and four of the Web Accessibility Training Manual for Webmasters. During the first hour, the emphasis will be on the manual review of a Web page using checkpoints described by Section 508. We will use several browser add-ons and developer tools to determine the accessibility of particular Web pages. In the second hour, the focus switches to AccVerify, a tool for validating the accessibility of Web sites.
Participants may download AccVerify from http://www.sjsu.edu/accessibility/web/software (login is required). AccVerify runs on Windows only.
This workshop is fast-paced and requires an advanced knowledge of Web page development. It is not recommended for those who have only a general interest in Web accessibility.
